Boulder has been named the #1 city in the nation in Gallup’s “Well Being Index”. It is also the most educated city in the United States. Today, I’m going to take you on a tour of Boulder Colorado my hometown. Here is my view of why Boulder is such an attractive place to call home. The first thing that comes to mind is the lifestyle. Boulder is situated where the Rocky Mountains meet the great plains. The transition is dramatic and the geography in and around Boulder are an outdoor playground. Everywhere you look you will see people out biking, hiking, running or just enjoying the natural beauty. Contrary to popular opinion, we are blessed with a fantastic climate. We have four seasons but over 300 days of sunshine. When we do get snow it often melts within a day. You can find heavy snow cover and cold up in Colorado’s high country but on the Front Range you can enjoy the outdoors every month of the year. Boulder is a haven for world class athletes, but you don’t have to be an Olympian to take advantage of the thousands of acres of open space surrounding Boulder. Boulder’s economy is strong and is sparked by the University of Colorado. CU is the city’s largest employer but just as important is the innovation that has sparked a high tech and entrepreneurial boom.
